Equine Nutrition & Wellness Co.

I started my journey to becoming an equine nutritionist when my own horse was struggling to keep condition. A horse who had always been over conditioned was suddenly under conditioned and I didn’t know how to fix it. When I was discussing this problem with our then vet, I realised I didn’t really know anything about proper nutrition for horses. I didn’t have any in-depth knowledge of what I was putting in my horse’s bucket or what type of hay I was feeding. While I knew what type of grass my hay was, I didn’t know the nutrient content nor did I know what type of ingredients were in the pre-mixed feed I was feeding and I certainly didn’t know how the diet I was providing her was effecting her condition. Fast forward to now, I can fully comprehend all of the nutrient content of the diet I am now providing my mare and the key rolls every ingredient plays in her health and condition. I can understand why at different points in her life she was over conditioned or under conditioned and I have helped her to maintain a perfect body condition score ever since. So my own horse, who I have had the pleasure of owning for over 15 years, has become my very first case study and the sole purpose for me finding a niche in the equine industry that I really love and am truely passionate about.

Throughout the different areas of study that I've completed, everything comes back to one key point; a balanced diet. A balanced diet is key for your horse’s health and my aim is to help others understand how to get the best out of their horse through nutrition.
